History and main uses of bee propolis
SUMMARY: The bee propolis, balsamic product obtained from plant
resins by exotic Africanized bees (Apis mellifera L.) transported and
processed by them, derived from the activity operating and maintaining
these individuals, beekeeping, has been an important ally of humans,
plants and animals in the control of undesirable microorganisms.
Because of this, we performed a literature review with the aim of
grouping works of importance on propolis worldwide. They are related
to some of the most important articles published on the subject, order to
clarify the main issues about the history of the use of propolis, its
proven benefits through scientific studies and its potential future use.
The knowledge of this by the producer could contribute considerably to
the growth of beekeeping, enhancement of beekeeping and unite
information about the potential use of this as a biocontrol and
