Abstract: This article intends, starting from the viewpoint of literature,
philosophy and history to explore the causes that lead humanity to reflect their
status in the world. First, we will resume some important historical events that
contributed to the awakening of the absurd sensitivity. We dialogue with some
major names, which were cited in The Myth of Sisyphus, to which Albert Camus
himself is said debtor. Among them is the Russian writer Fyodor Dostoevsky,
whose work has a profound reflection on human existence and behavior in the
world. We yet will highlight some reflections of the philosophers Soren
Kierkegaard, Friedrich Nietzsche, Walter Benjamin e Theodor Adorno.
Keywords: Absurd reasoning, anguish, existentialism and freedom
