INTELIGÊNCIA ADENTRA A ERA DO AGROAMBIENTALISMO Daniel Almeida de Macedo * Resumo Manter o crescimento da produção agropecuária e, ao mesmo tempo, reduzir os impactos sobre os recursos naturais representam, conjuntamente, um dos grandes objetivos globais na atualidade. No Brasil, o debate sobre a sustentabilidade da produção das lavouras e pastagens é especialmente importante em razão de o agronegócio ser um dos principais ativos estratégicos da nação. Contudo, a manutenção da condição de grande produtor mundial de commodities exige o aperfeiçoamento da conexão entre órgãos de proteção ambiental, centros de pesquisa agropecuária e a classe dos produtores rurais, para que em um esforço sinérgico sejam formuladas soluções às ameaças que impactam simultaneamente o meio ambiente e o agronegócio. O presente artigo, de caráter exploratório, pontua o aspecto transformador da agropecuária nacional contemporânea, discorre sobre as narrativas construídas acerca de sua relação com o meio ambiente e examina como a cooperação intersetorial na forma de um Subsistema de Inteligência poderia contribuir na produção de conhecimentos sobre riscos, vulnerabilidades e oportunidades relativos à dinâmica agroambiental brasileira. TO PROTECT, TO RESEARCH, TO PRODUCE: INTELLIGENCE ACTIVITY ENTERS THE ERA OF AGRO-ENVIRONMENTALISM Abstract Maintaining the growth of agricultural production and, at the same time, reducing the impacts on natural resources, both represent one of the major global objectives today. In Brazil, the debate on the sustainability of crops and pasture production is especially important because agribusiness is one of the nation's main strategic assets. Nevertheless, the maintenance of the status of a major global producer of commodities requires improving the connection between environmental protection agencies, agricultural research centers and the class of rural producers, so that, in a synergistic effort, solutions can be formulated to tackle threats that simultaneously impact the environment and agribusiness. This article, of an exploratory nature, points out the transformative character of contemporary national agriculture, discusses the narratives constructed about its relationship with the environment and examines how intersectoral cooperation in the form of an Intelligence sub-system could contribute to the production of knowledge about risks, vulnerabilities and opportunities related to Brazilian agri-environmental dynamics.
