OS PRINCIPAIS AÇOS CARBONO UTILIZADOS NA CONSTRUÇÃO CIVIL
THE MAIN CARBON STEELS USED IN CIVIL CONSTRUCTION

RESUMO: O aço representa um dos materiais que contribuíram significativamente para a
evolução tecnológica da humanidade, propiciando modernização das cidades e o crescimento
econômico. O Brasil, atualmente, está entre os dez maiores produtores mundiais de aço, e
particularmente na construção civil o aço é uma das principais matérias-primas. Neste
contexto, o objetivo geral do presente artigo é identificar os tipos de aços a serem aplicados
em armaduras de concreto, em estruturas metálicas e em pontes, viadutos e fundações.
Constatou-se que para o concreto armado os aços utilizados são os que atendem à Norma
NBR 7480:2007. Já para estruturas metálicas, viadutos, pontes e fundações são indicados os
aços de alta resistência e baixa liga.

ABSTRACT: Steel represents one of the materials that contributed significantly to the
technological evolution of humanity, providing modernization of cities and economic growth.
Brazil is currently among the ten largest steel producers in the world, and particularly in civil
construction, steel is one of the main raw materials. In this context, the general objective of
this article is to identify the types of steels to be applied in concrete reinforcement, metal
structures and bridges, viaducts and foundations. It was verified that for the reinforced
concrete the steels used are those that comply with the Norm NBR 7480: 2007. Steel
structures, viaducts, bridges and foundations are indicated for high strength and low alloy
steels.
