Volume (JBOD)
• RAIDXpert2 treats one or more
disks or the unused space on a
disk as a single array.
• Supports 1 to 8 disks
Provides the ability to link-together
storage from one or several disks,
regardless of the size of the space on
those disks.
Useful in scavenging space on disks
unused by other disks in the array.
Does not provide performance benefits
or data redundancy. Disk failure will
result in data loss.
RAIDABLE (also
known as RAID
Ready)
• Allows a RAIDABLE disk to be
transformed later to RAID0 or
RAID1.
• Supports one disk.
See RAID0 (Striping), on page 27 or
RAID1 (Mirroring) on page 27 for
post-transformation usefulness.
